The Battle Unfolds...

The lords who formed the Ascension refused to answer the call when Lance summoned them to his banner in the war against Asperity. These nobles had long disdained the low born man who had been acclaimed King. Their poor estimation of the man's superior skills as a war leader would come to be thrown in their faces.

When their forces were defeated by the shock troops the King dispatched from the front, the nobles fled to the primeval forests of their nation, digging in while they marshalled what forces they had left. Now they fight an insurgency, daring the Knights of Accord to fight them under the dense canopies and in the thick vegetation of Accord's remotest regions. They leave the forests only to steal supplies and press gang unwary villagers to fight on their behalf.
